Exodus, the space opera epic with trailers narrated by Matthew McConaughey, drops a trio of gameplay clips that still look a lot like Mass Effect
Exodus, a new space opera RPG from former BioWare developers, released three new gameplay clips showing combat, exploration, and galaxy-character-more-kids-meal-toys-than-t.html" class="story-link" title="McDonald’s Gives The Best Super Mario Galaxy Character More Kids Meal Toys Than ">character interactions. The game features trailers narrated by Matthew McConaughey and promises epic space adventures. However, the gameplay footage has drawn immediate comparisons to the Mass Effect series, with many noting strong visual and mechanical similarities.
The gameplay looks solid and familiar in a good way, showing the developers understand what made Mass Effect great. Having the original creators return to this style of space RPG is exactly what fans have been wanting. The similarities are features, not bugs.
The game looks too derivative and safe, essentially copying Mass Effect's formula without bringing enough new ideas to the table. After years of development, they expected something more innovative than what appears to be a Mass Effect clone with better graphics.
